Haiku 2

Water

knowing the unknown
he glows like an icicle
in the darkest pool

from the oceans depth
cast your eyes up to the sky
wish upon the moon

Sky

4 am sky blue
Building something magical
With diminished 5ths

Earth

trees crying flowers
cicadas sing the storm in
a butterflies passed

mountains fall apart
Can’t withstand the test of time
Hand in the lion’s mouth

Off the beaten track
the path to my lovers house
adorned with flowers

The fire that owns the lake

drawing round the moon
the ringmaster plants his spear
catches the lightning

Mei

The intangible
Matter meets antimatter
Just to touch a dream

Moon

You’re my all around
You’re my water and my salt
light circles the moon

Anarchy

witches communing
make the pirates walk the plank
no one steers this ship

When a stern man speaks
‘jump through my hoops as I say.’
jump through loop holes

Beautiful outcasts
We’ll dance against the timeless
Until the last sunrise.

Sitting in a church
Say a prayer for the lost souls
May they not be found

Empty Page

Bouncing your ideas
Against the wall and backwards
This is not my world

floating in between
the universe is ruthless
so is the spirit

Yellow as the sun
Indigo as between stars
Red is everything

With brushes darker
Paint a square of desert red
The unbecoming

Let the cool sand slip
Through your fingers to the ground
What you catch you lose.

Himself

The last ones awake
kissing drunk his spirit leaves
the abrasive moon

I swim in your eyes
The same colour as the sea
the deepest of green

Smoke spirals upwards
From the blunt in his gnarled hand
To circle the moon.

Connected to you
planting love on barren paths
I walk the streets alone

Dark hood hides his eyes
Light shines brightly from his chest
Warmer than the sun

Lying on the floor tears
fall through the floorboard cracks
tell me I’m ok.

waiting for the man
Magnetise the ball and chain
make it sparkly

I dream symphonies
Your name is every quaver
Rests rest between bars

starts with the devil
stolen kiss a gnarled old tree
ends with the devil

Folk Tales

wolves hide in the dark
speaking softly with kindness
words drip like butter

Angels and daemons
Both have their good and bad points
Which side do I choose?

talking with a fish
imagining what I’d say
If I had the words

Once I was so blind
I could ignore your cruelty
How the big wheel turns.

Soon the truth will drop
like a millstone on our heads
unburied bones sing

Watching over graves
the boy who never knew fear
finds gold underneath

Thrown from the tower
I fell down because of you.
My tears washed your eyes

Outside over there
Climb out the window backwards
to where goblins meet

Angels in disguise
world of cathedrals and ants
flick them to the ground

Jump from the tea cup
Into the beautiful blue
Goldfish free yourself

god

One eye to the sky
as below so is above
One hand on the ground

existing elsewhere
All she was I keep inside
coming back to life

Look behind the veil
I see your outside inside
I see you’re contained

Ceasefire

tears of hope and loss
One armed child plays violin
One child lost his speech

We are beloved
To share the love that we have
there’s not enough time
